Gardens with
a sense of place.

Thoughtful outdoor spaces, planted for your light, your soil and the way you live. Serving the North Shore since 2014.

What we do

One crew, from first sketch to first frost.

01

Design

Site plans and planting schemes drawn around how you use the yard.

  • Site survey and soil test
  • Scaled plan and planting list
  • 3D view before we dig
02

Build

Patios, paths, beds and lighting, installed by our own crew.

  • Stone and paver patios
  • Beds, edging and mulch
  • Low-voltage lighting
03

Care

Seasonal pruning, mulch and cleanups that keep it looking new.

  • Spring and fall cleanups
  • Pruning and feeding
  • Seasonal color

Why Oakline

Planted to look better in year three than on day one.

We choose plants for your exposure and soil, not for the catalog. Fewer replacements, less watering, and a garden that fills in the way it was drawn.

About Oakline

Designers who also dig.

Oakline started in 2014 with one truck and a sketchbook. Today we are a small studio of designers and installers who still draw every plan by hand before it goes to the computer.

The person who designs your garden walks it with the crew on install day. That is how the plan on paper becomes the garden in the ground.

What we believe

Right plant, right place.

Native and adapted plants first. Soil before mulch. Paths wide enough for two. Lighting that shows the garden, not the fixture.

Why we plant trees in fall

Cooler air, warm soil and autumn rain give new roots a full season to settle in before summer heat arrives.

Grasses that look good in January

Five ornamental grasses that hold their shape and color through winter, so the garden never looks empty.

Mulch: how much is too much

Two to three inches, never against the bark. A simple rule that saves more shrubs than any fertilizer.
