Why we plant trees in fall
Cooler air, warm soil and autumn rain give new roots a full season to settle in before summer heat arrives.
Landscape design · Build · Care
Thoughtful outdoor spaces, planted for your light, your soil and the way you live. Serving the North Shore since 2014.
What we do
Site plans and planting schemes drawn around how you use the yard.
Patios, paths, beds and lighting, installed by our own crew.
Seasonal pruning, mulch and cleanups that keep it looking new.
Why Oakline
We choose plants for your exposure and soil, not for the catalog. Fewer replacements, less watering, and a garden that fills in the way it was drawn.
How it works
A free hour on site. We walk the yard, talk budget and take measurements.
A scaled plan, planting list and fixed quote within two weeks.
Our own crew installs, usually in one to three weeks.
Optional seasonal visits keep it growing the way it was drawn.

About Oakline
Oakline started in 2014 with one truck and a sketchbook. Today we are a small studio of designers and installers who still draw every plan by hand before it goes to the computer.
The person who designs your garden walks it with the crew on install day. That is how the plan on paper becomes the garden in the ground.

What we believe
Native and adapted plants first. Soil before mulch. Paths wide enough for two. Lighting that shows the garden, not the fixture.
Projects
A curving path through drifts of grasses and clipped boxwood.
New lawn, staked street trees and a mulched shrub border.
Flagstone stepping path and layered foundation planting.
A sculpted lawn edge with low hedging and a timber bench.
Journal
Cooler air, warm soil and autumn rain give new roots a full season to settle in before summer heat arrives.
Five ornamental grasses that hold their shape and color through winter, so the garden never looks empty.
Two to three inches, never against the bark. A simple rule that saves more shrubs than any fertilizer.
